AIEG100 : AI Ethics & Governance

AI Ethics & Governance introduces students to the ethical principles and practical governance practices needed to use artificial intelligence responsibly in professional settings. The course focuses on fairness and harmful bias, transparency, privacy, accountability, human oversight, reliability, and risk management. Students learn to recognize ethical concerns in common workplace.

Students apply widely used responsible-AI guidance to realistic, workplace scenarios. Attention is given to the NIST AI Risk Management Framework and its Govern, Map, Measure, and Manage functions, along with the OECD AI Principles and UNESCO's Recommendation on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence. Hands-on activities ask students to conduct a basic ethics scan, review an AI output for bias and reliability concerns, apply the NIST AI RMF to a simple scenario, and create a short governance plan.
