In this course, we will discuss the background and framework for a successful and effective coach. We will discuss the theories, practices, and actions of a useful coach. Far from being an intangible and ethereal discipline, this course will demonstrate the grounded and useful reality of coaching. Students will know the marketing principles, and emotional framework needed to be a successful coach and entrepreneur.

  • Apply major coaching theories and frameworks, such as developmental, psychodynamic, integral, online/virtual, and career coaching, in practice.
  • Develop a plan that describes a successful coaching practice by researching niche markets and applying effective business and marketing strategies.
  • Describe how to develop effective coaching relationships by integrating mindfulness, awareness, compassion, and spirituality as tools for client growth and transformation.
  • Demonstrate the ability to support client development across personal, professional, and leadership contexts using evidence-based coaching practices.
